SOCIOPRENEUR 2012, a social business plan competition hosted by the Entrepreneurship Cell of Govt.Model Engineering College, Kochi, aims at promoting innovative ideas for sustainable social ventures.  Sociopreneur exhorts the youth to raise their voice to guarantee equal opportunities to individuals, and take those visionary initiatives that could make a qualitative difference to millions of lives.

The event takes place in two phases. The participants are required to mail in an abstract of their idea tosociopreneurmec@gmail.com. Six teams will be shortlisted to progress to the finals on March 6th at the Presidency Hotel, Cochin, where they will make a detailed presentation of their b-plan in front of our esteemed panel of judges and a live audience. Audience registrations are also invited to Sociopreneur, with interactive sessions and prizes on offer. Also bundled with Sociopreneur is an online case study competition, hosted by Teach for India, in association with E-CELL MEC. The problem statement or case will be up on www.ecellmec.org/teach-for-india on the 20th of February, 2012. Entries should be submitted by e-mail to sociopreneurmec@gmail.com on or before the 29th of February, 2012 to stand a chance at earning fellowships at Teach for India and several other exciting prizes.
