If you are a power boating enthusiast or a racing freak, then the Powerboat Rally 2012 is exclusively here for you. The Offshore Sailing Club (OSC) of the Southern Naval Command will be hosting the Powerboat Rally 2012 on February 5th, at Kochi International Marina here in Cochin. This amazing event is a Yachting Association of India initiative. This year the Powerboat Rally will be conducted in two categories – boats below 100 hp and boats above 100 hp.

This challenging event will be similar to that of checkpoint rallies involved in car racing involving high speed helming, challenging navigation and tricky routes. The boats will be required to report at a number of check posts within a given timeframe by maintaining an average high speed. This rally is not about the speed in which you navigate, it’s all about the precision and accuracy of your navigation. The track length of this rally will be about 46 kilometers through the scenic backwaters and will have routes arranged close to the Marine Drive, Fort Kochi and other popular areas where people will get to watch the rally.
